Hey guys I've been playing with the idea of doing a 4cyl to V8 swap I'm wondering if any of you have done this and is it worth it to do or would you suggest saving the coin and opting for an original 5.0? Thoughts appreciated
Thanks in advance |

if you're mechanically inclined its not that much work, but if you're just aiming for a bone stock foxbody you'd be better off just buying an original 5.0 if you're gonna modify most of it then its better to go 4 cyl swap IMO

Thanks for the advice, I was thinking the same thing in the sense that a 4 banger would probably be straighter and molested a little less. Is there anything in specific to watch out for? I was reading something about the wiring harnesses being different for the 87-88 and the 89-93 or something like that?

harnesses do vary a bit, but if you use the same year 5.0 engine harness in the same year 4 banger body harness it should all work out

Depends on the look u want, if you want a clean stockish 5.0l buy one, if you want a full custom car then build a 4 banger car. I just think it makes the swap easier and u can spend ur time on other things.

I'm doing a 351 swap. Starting with a 4cyl. Changing all stock components anyway, may as well start off with the cheapest option!
