Default 01 Grand Cherokee stereo install

Helped a buddy do his stereo install, he bought the factory harness adapters and we did the yellow (12v)
red (acc)
black (-)
there is a brown wire labelled (park) no idea what it's for or where it should be connected to.

We removed the factory amp under the rear seat and cut the connectors.
there were 2 reds and 2 blacks but I just taped them so they arent going to anything.
The rest of wires were for the door speakers and the 2 front tweets which I wired to a 2channel xover and sent the signal to the front doors and the tweets.

anyways apparently he cant use the system in (acc) and when he has the key to on it drains the battery in 20mins.

any ideas?

you shouldn't be helping people other than telling them to go to someone with experience to do the job correctly.

maybe you connected the acc wire to an ignition + instead of an acc +?

Considering YELLOW is acc, and RED is power, yes, you shouldn't be doing wiring.

I say the government should pay for this install, after all if they want to push radio frequency into our immediate airspace they must give us the means to retrieve them
